Notes on Chianti

I was lucky to visit the Chianti region of Italy this summer, and spent several days en plein air in the landscape. It was almost too beautiful to paint. I had to come back to my studio and allow my memory and sketches to remind me of that dreamy trip. This piece is a gentle reminder of sweeping vineyards, warm afternoons, and the quiet way the hills took my breath away.
