Small paintings are intimate. They draw you in. The layers of depth in encaustic add to that drama. It's what makes this medium so luscious.
 
Small works started in my practice years ago as a launching point for larger pieces. Since then, I've learned that they have a life of their own. I now have many collectors who add a painting each year to a growing wall of original works.
